Today I’m sharing some thoughts I’ve had regarding why I blog and why I’ll continue to blog, and this article is the brain child of a couple of wonderful fellow bloggers I know who came up with the idea to do a group post on the subject. Thank you Ruth and Simply Stephen.

The question about why we blog and how or even if it can change the world is a good one to ask. It’s easy to go straight down that path of thinking ‘oh I must change the world: world hunger, world peace, world wars etc. It’s overwhelming to think in terms of those things and although I care about those things and do certain things to help improve the hunger and peace issues I don’t do that through blogging. (Not yet anyway.)

My blogging journey to date began when I felt the need to share information about the truth. The truth about who you can trust online to help you earn a living and who you might possibly be best to avoid in that regard. Well my focus changed from ‘calling out’ problem products and marketers to a more positive one where I myself became the change I wanted to see…cliche I know! Sorry.

So for me and my current circumstances; it’s important to me that I show people ways they can have some freedoms, some choices about how they might earn extra money. That there are alternatives and although they might take work they offer you choices.

I’ve enjoyed immensely the frankness in which I’ve been able to deliver my message here so far: have the ability to be free to pretty much say it as it is. I’ve been humbled by the support I’ve had from my readers and it’s really shown me that you can help people, you can change their world for the better and that in turn can have an affect on those around them and so on, just like a ripple.

My vision for blogging at MichelleAdams.com is to continue to share my knowledge that I believe will help others but also to impact on a much deeper level than I have to date. To help people take even bigger steps than they feel they have or could in their lives to date.

If I can change your day for the better, even if it’s just a tiny bit, then I’ve changed the world.

–

As a unique way of looking at what blogging really means, a few of us gathered together our thoughts on how blogging can change the world and our individual lives. This is what we came up with:

“Can A Blog Change the World?” by Ruth: “Blogging as an opportunity to use your voice for what you truly believe in, changing your world for the better”.

“My Blogging Vision” by Lisa: “”When I started blogging back in October of 2007, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. I’ve seen a lot of changes in my life since then yet my vision for my blog remains the same.”

“My Blogging Journey” by Stephen: “Life has been a journey of twists and turns for me. As an introvert it has sometimes been a little bit too stimulating…if life has taught me anything, it is that the world is an amazing place with so many struggles, challenges, opportunities and stories from real people.”

“At the Speed of Blog” by Steve: “What I have seen in the way mankind has changed in the form of communication during my lifetime.”

“All About Me” by Donny: “All About Me – Well maybe not all. I wanted to take a minute and give everyone a chance to get to know a bit about who I am, how I got here, what I hope to accomplish and why I am looking to Internet Marketing and, more specifically, Niche Blogging for income.”

“Turning Dreams Into Goals” by Donna: “For the past year my dream has been to make enough money working online so that both me and my husband could work from home. We have a business that I currently run from home and I wanted to turn that over to him while I created websites.”

“Why I Blog and Why I’ll Continue to Blog” by Michelle: Inspired by others who ‘care’, I got to thinking about the world we all live in and how we have this amazing communication channel we know as the World Wide Web: I wondered if by blogging, can I change the world? Here’s some of the thoughts that quickly came to mind”

“Blogging Vision 2010” by Jen: “AkitaJitsu’s “Niche Blogging for Non-Techies” is all about answering technical questions about building niche blogs in a non-technical way. Jen (aka, Akitajitsu) started the blog a few months ago, and has written a plan for the blog’s future. She hopes this blog will become a popular resource for niche bloggers.”

“Blogging to Change the World – My World” by Leslie: “Blogging can be a hobby, something you do for fun. For me, it changed my world for the better. It made my life the dreamlife I always envisioned.”

“Niche Blogging” by Loren: “Making goals, missing goals and maintaining blogging relationships.”

Back in mid July ’09 I was flattered to receive a Kreativ Blogger Award from my good online friend, Simply Stephen, thank you again Stephen. It’s taken quite a few months to get back to awarding my own Kreativ Blogger awards but I’m glad to say this isn’t something I’ve hastily pulled together.

You might not have heard of the Kreativ Blogger Award before, I certainly hadn’t but since understanding it a bit more I think it’s a wonderful idea. Basically when your blog is the recipient of a Kreativ Blogger Award you in turn nominate seven blogs to whom you feel are deserving of an award too. Every individual gains different things from different blogs so it really is the individual choice of the person doing the nominations and what bloggers have inspired, helped or simply made a difference in their life some way. By nominating seven blogs it offers a way to give back to the bloggers themselves, thanking them formally for the work, insights etc that they’ve shared on their blog.

So what do you do exactly when you receive an award?
1. You should thank the person who kindly nominated you for the Kreativ Blogger Award.
2. Place a copy of the Kreativ Blogger Award logo onto your blog somewhere (pictured here in this post …no links required…).
3. Link back to the blog of the person who gave you the Kreativ Blogger Award.
4. Share seven interesting things about yourself on your blog.
5. Choose seven bloggers to nominate for the Kreativ Blogger Award.
6. Place links back to the seven blogs you decide to nominate.
7. And finally visit the seven blogs you nominated and post a comment to inform them that they’ve been nominated by you.

I found it quite easy to choose the bloggers I wanted to nominate, the more difficult part was choosing seven things that people might find interesting about me. Below I share those seven things followed by the seven bloggers I’m excited to nominate.

Seven Interesting Facts About Me
1. I’ve been a vegetarian for almost my entire life. I love animals and would find it impossible to eat one even if I was starving.
2. In my teens I taught myself how to wall and floor tile and became a ‘tradeswomen’. I tiled many new homes but gave it up to work in an office. I didn’t miss the the freezing early morning starts or lugging 30kg tubs of tile adhesive…(did I mention I’m just over 5 foot?)
3. For a couple of years in my early twenties I taught high impact aerobics, I now am paying the price by way of a very bad back.
4. I started my retail management cadet-ship with Kmart and became one of the youngest ever female appointed Store Managers. I never realised that 13 years down the track I would be the National Manager of a 33 million dollar a year business.
5. I have a severe phobia of birds and although I’ve had an unreasonable amount of birds attack me not really enough to rationally arrive at the level of fear I have of a sparrow for example! One day I’ll try hypnosis to at least enable me to eat at a sidewalk cafe without feeling sick at the site of the birds and having to leave.
6. My favourite colour is pink. So typical of a girl huh, but I really love it!
7. I can’t remember the last time I read a fiction book. I do read a lot but everything I read is non-fiction.

My Seven Kreativ Blogger Awards Go To
1. Annabel of Bella Bellas really is a Kreativ blogger sharing a lot of her wonderful creations she makes mostly for her children. It’s hard to browse through Annabel’s blog and not want to instantly rush over to her fabric store and order in some divine Japanese fabric to whip up into something special. I leave the sewing to Annabel though and simply love visiting her blog to see her latest creations.
2. Forest Parks of Real Blogging Tips is someone who shares his time and knowledge freely. Forest and I met in Josh Spaulding’s private coaching forum and I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know him a little even though we’re miles apart geographically. Forest is quite simply an honest and caring blogger who shares plenty of great info on his blog, he’s also a graphic designer and I’ve seen loads of Kreativity in his work.
3. Gideon Shalwick of GideonShalwick.com has recently started sharing on his blog his expertise and knowledge around video creation. Gideon has been very Kreativ on his blog in many ways, not the least of which is the ability for his site visitors and himself to comment via video! Gideon really takes time and care to share every detail on how to be successful at video creation and marketing.
4. Josh Spaulding of Ez-Onlinemoney has been mentioned quite a few times on my blog but I cannot nominate seven bloggers here without acknowledging him again formally. Josh is a very unique individual in my opinion particularly when it comes to Internet marketing and helping others find success online. He has proven over and over again that he will say it how it is and keep you on the straight and narrow if you’ll listen. The one thing I admire most about Josh is how he will declare his views even when they’re against popular opinion, courage like that is to be revered.
5. Keller Hawthorne of Fresh eVenture started blogging early in 2009 and she has shared loads of great content in only a few short months! What inspires me most about Keller is her dedication to her blog and her readers and her willingness to share a lot about herself and her knowledge.
6. Mark Mason of Mason World is another blogger who I met through Josh Spaulding’s private coaching. Mark manages to balance a serious day job with his online businesses. Most recently Mark has been serving up some fantastic podcasts featuring interviews with successful Internet marketers. Mark is always willing to help out those in need and I have to say he has a great sense of humour too!
7. Yaro Starak of Entrepreneurs Journey is probably well known to a lot of my blog readers but again this is one blog that I always frequent and wanted to mention. Yaro shares so much of himself, his beliefs, his knowledge and you could spend days drinking up all the wonderful content and nuggets of gold he shares there.

Of course there are more blogs I frequent but I have stuck to the seven I spend the most time following and not only following their blogs but also chatting on Twitter, Facebook, Skype and in private forums. I hope you enjoy visiting my chosen seven and if you could take a few minutes to leave a comment whilst you’re over there that would be great, all bloggers love to hear what their visitors think.

Who would you award a Kreativ Blogger Award to?
