I could watch Frank on video all day long. His appeal in the laid back, surfer-dude approach and his ability to articulate well. He has that rare “natural” talent of sales.

But like many, I found his products too basic. I’ve stopped purchasing any type of info or training laid out in 50 videos with poorly written (PDF) support material. Tellingly, most of what is offer by the gurus offers too little applicable info and too much time spent going through it all.

The need to continue my education doesn’t mean I stop purchasing training material/info…I’m just now very selective.

Here’s what I before sending money:

Only purchase items with a 30 guarantee. Review the first several chapters/videos, ASAP. If it appears that I won’t get through the material within 30 days…refund request goes in. Moreover, If I don’t see real value in that first review…refund request. Again, if the training is poorly laid out or regurgitated crapola…request refund.

A final note…recently I requested a refund of an article spinner software. It was in beta, relatively inexpensive and had some positive comments from other users. But the training to use the product was minimal-too much assumed the user knew more than s/he might. And my version was lacking some features they were discussing in their training. Replies to support came back with curt, unhelpful and often blaming replies.When I requested the refund..the company offered me EVERY SINGLE PRODUCT on their shelf for F.ree! To me, this F.ree offer translated to me their products held little value.

Over the past 2 years, I’ve gotten pretty savvy at assessing products…now if only I could package it! LOL.

I agree that studying what the gurus give away is an excellent way to learn about marketing.

There are a few ‘gurus’ who still manage to market with a fair and reasonable amount of hype around their launches, tactics that I would feel comfortable in using. It’s the over-hype, the bogus ‘technical glitches’, the ‘accountant has approved more places!’ type marketing that I find so distasteful, it’s basically lies and I can’t get a grip on using lies as a marketing tactic. It works for them though and they must feel comfortable treating people that way.

Like you, many of us end up opting out of what doesn’t serve us well. Thanks for stopping by my blog.

I would encourage people in the beginning to subscribe to as many Guru’s as possible, Why? It was a lesson worth thousands. Studying how they constructed their sales pages, how they presented e mails, the different web site designs, the color combination s, etc.. was a course that would have cost thousands.

It took time to understand and sort it out, but it was free. Like some of your other commentary said you soon see the rehashing of products and pitches which also saves you money by Not Purchasing.

By the way though, the 2K thing wasn’t something Frank offered me, that was the Arbitrage Conspiracy I was referring to. Frank has no doubt sold products for 2K and over though so he does possibly fall into the picture you painted in your comments.:)

I’d have bought “mass control” but it’s way out of my budget right now. But he is a master of creating rapport and using it ruthlessly.
