I know several people who make money from submitting articles to associatedcontent, nice if that’s what one has affinity with. For me, writing articles on topics that are not my passion is like torture so I stay away from this type of online money making. It does suit a lot of people though and or if you can outsource the writing and still make money then that could work too.

I think I might know what program you’re talking about where people lost thousands. I still think that although that lesson was a big one, a lot of those people will be much the wiser for it.

Ahhh, you said ‘create systems’, that is one of my most favorite ways to work at things. Finding systems to repeat really can make the difference between being able to scale things or not. I like your thinking.

Where you said “…break down your goals into achievable chunks, remember the why and stay focused…” resonated with me, as this is exactly the phase I am in.

Learning (but know when to know you have enough lessons in your toolkit), application of those lessons, create systems, rinse and repeat. Also the mantra to maintain focus, and more specifically focusing on the 20% of effort that produces 80% of the output (80/20 rule). Leverage, leverage, leverage!

Great post! Setting goals is vital to success in any field, and a bit of old fashioned hard work doesn’t hurt of course. Hopefully your own hard work will soon pay off and you’ll have your husband home with you!

I have heard and read a lot about Site Flipping but haven’t tried yet. After reading your post I want to give it a try but at the same time the higher fees by SitePoint that you mentioned in your post, is making me think twice.

Focus, or lack thereof, can be stone we stumble on in so many things in our lives. Sometimes it’s so easy to lose sight of our goals when we’ve got our heads buried deep in our websites. Every once in a while I get inspired by seeing my stuff show up in the serps, and of course, getting the input from CWJ is a real help, too.

Patience, time, and dedication are key factors. Probably a lot more, but these three sure are the most troublesome to get a handle on.

The three main areas of income are sales of my own products/services and selling virtual real estate.

Other income is derived from AdSense and commission on products I promote as an affiliate.

My husband has several blogs too although they could be earning a lot more but his time is limited as he works full time.

To bring my husband home…..doing more of the things mentioned above plus launching membership site/s. Wish me luck.

Can you give us some insight as to what your major online income streams are and how you plan to bring your husband home.

@ Sunshine yes time flies! Every day goes by and I ask myself, what did I do to work toward achieving my goals today…asking a question like that eventually brings better answers as it leads to giving up on fluffing around and instead taking loads of meaningful action.

@ Rebe like a still river, you can plod along in it but once that river has a current you can you use that to move forward more quickly. Building momentum is just as important for your earnings as it is your motivation. You hit the nail on the head! “Learning, testing, learning, testing.” Most people don’t bother with the testing part, you’re many steps ahead.

Although I wouldn’t be considered a HUGE success of earning a replacement income online, after all it’s only been a year since my online adventure began, I am encouraged and plod along learning, testing, learning, testing.
