Thanks for your comments Ruri. I don’t agree that doing all online marketing manually is a waste of time for everybody. Some people aren’t in a financial position to put money into things before they see any income results. I do advise though that as soon as possible, investing in tools, outsourcing etc will help speed up results.

Well, I already get all experiences you mention above. Up and down on online business is normal. Sometimes we get hacker attack, sometimes we got banned from adsense for unknown reason.

However, We should keep trying hard. From my experience, using tools to faster our business success is a must. Doing all online marketing manually is waste of time.

Hi Ric, no I haven’t tried the alternatives you’ve mentioned but I believe they’re very popular and imagine they would deliver to some degree.

I don’t have time to do a case study on this at the moment but it would be really interesting to see how the various offers stack up against each other income wise.

Michelle, on the issue of adsense, have you tried or have an opinion on ad alternatives? Such as bidviser, adbrite or others? I too have that concern about google as we get deeper into this area.

Thanks for your comment Mark. Scary indeed for your friend, glad he got his account back, he’s very lucky.

Slowly creating new avenues of income is a good thing, it’s no use spreading yourself so thin that none of the businesses ever get any real momentum. Each income stream should be optimised to a reasonable point and then move on to the next. Come back to your most profitable models later to build them out into your major businesses.

I know someone who had their Google Adsense account banned. He had most of his business (maybe all) based on Google bringing him income. He got it fixed, but it was a little scary for him at the time.

I’ve been slowly creating new “baskets”, but I wouldn’t say I’m totally protected yet.

As you know I site flip, am trying to build up adsense and now am approaching PPC.

I’m hoping to build a good following on my new Blogging Tips Blog too… so hopefully when all these elements work out my eggs will be spread far and wide….

This is why it is important to not only be in different markets, niches and types of information online. (Blogs, eBooks, Membership Sites…)

It is important to have different traffic sources: Organic, Video, Article Marketing, etc… as well.

What an insightful article. Good advice for anyone to follow. Like any investment program it is important to stretch your arms and put your money and time into a few things. Specializing is great but…what if the well dries up or bottom falls out. Thank you for putting it so eloquently.

One key benefit of multiple streams of income is knowledge and experience. Each time the learning curve is reduced. It becomes easier to monetize.
